Large Holograms, James Turrell’s new exhibit at PaceWildenstein, consists of fifteen new transmission light works that successfully “examine the phenomenon of the light itself, capturing its normally fleeting qualities and allowing light to become the object.” Also of note, a major retrospective of his work is planned for the Guggenheim in 2012.

One of Sol LeWitt’s final commissions was “Whirls and Twirls (MTA)” which may be seen at Columbus Circle.
After a recent cleaning and thorough re-examination, the Met confirms that “Portrait of a Man” is indeed by the Spanish master. But the question lingers, is it a self-portrait?
